Product description : Used for in vitro quantitative determination of human neutrophil gelatinase related apolipoprotein content in human plasma or urine. Human neutrophil gelatinase associated lipoprotein (NGAL), also known as Lipocalin-2, is one of the most effective biological markers for diagnosing acute kidney injury. Studies have also shown an increase in serum NGAL concentration in patients with angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction. Human neutrophil gelatinase associated lipoprotein (NGAL), also known as Lipocalin-2, is a new member of the lipid transport protein family and an early biomarker of renal function damage. NGAL not only exists in neutrophils, but also in specific epithelial cells. For example, during ischemic and toxic kidney injury, NGAL in renal tubular epithelial cells will significantly increase. Within the first two hours, NGAL levels in urine and blood will significantly increase. Therefore, NGAL is one of the most effective biological markers for diagnosing acute kidney injury. There are also studies indicating an increase in serum NGAL concentration in patients with angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction.
