Product description : N - (2-hydroxyethyl) piperazine-N '- (4-butylsulfonic acid), abbreviated as HEPBS, is often prepared as a buffer for diagnostic testing. The CAS number of HEPBS is 161308-36-7, and it is a white crystalline powder at 25 ℃. Its pKa value is 8.3, which is in line with the environment for cell growth. The HEPBS produced by our company is reagent grade, and its aqueous solution is slightly turbid. It needs to be prepared and used on site. In practical applications, after titration with sodium hydroxide solution, it serves as a buffer. In a 33% W/W sodium hydroxide solution, its UV absorbance is less than 0.1. The pH range is between 7.6-9.0, and the HEPBS buffer has strong buffering ability. But it is greatly affected by temperature, so when using HEPBS as a buffer, the influence of biochemical reaction temperature should be considered. HEPBS is a facultative ionic compound with both positive and negative charges in its molecular structure. Its chemical structure contains a piperazine ring, which is not active and does not affect enzyme activity. It does not react with most metals to produce precipitates or change the activity coefficient of the biochemical system. However, it can be oxidized by strong oxidants or reduced by strong reducing agents. HEPBS is a member of the piperazine buffer family, which can coexist with cations in cell culture media and provide the necessary acidity environment for cell growth. It is commonly used to stabilize the pH value of cell growth environment in cell culture media. Due to its high pKa value and suitability for use on the skin, like EPPS, HEPBS can act as a buffer in cosmetic raw materials, regulating the acidity and alkalinity of various components in cosmetics. The HEPBS produced by Desheng is only used for scientific research reagents, with a powder purity of over 99%. When measuring its moisture using the Karl Fischer method, the drying weight loss is less than or equal to 1%. In addition to HEPBS, our company's trusted buffering agents include TRIS, TRIS-HCL, BICINE, CAPS, MOPS, TAPS, EPPS, MOPSO, HEPES, PIPES, TAE, etc. All products can be customized in small quantities and samples can also be provided for testing. Welcome new and old customers to inquire about procurement.
